Chief Meteorologist
Frank Scaglione
AMS/NWA Member
Frank is no stranger to weather forecasting. Before launching IowaWeatherNow in September of 2008, Frank was the Chief Forecaster and Severe Weather Expert at KCLI NewsCenter 4, IowaWeatherNow's predecessor, beginning in 2004.
Over that period of time, Frank became proficient in Iowa's varying climatic patterns, and became an expert in severe weather and Doppler radar interpretation. KCLI received Doppler Radar in 2006, which has been renamed and revamped for IowaWeatherNow. SKY EYE DOPPLER HD will be more clear, more accurate, and more up-to-date. And with the IowaWeatherNow Storm Team behind the controls, you can always count on the most accurate "picture" of severe weather.
Frank is most noted for being an avid professional stormchaser, piloting former KCLI's "MOBILESTORM 4," now turned IowaWeatherNow's "StormHawk," since 2006.
Some of the big weather stories Frank remembers most include the Woodward, Stratford and Parkersburg tornadoes, and the Floods of 2008.
Frank also works at KCCI-TV in the weather department, filling both on and off air roles.
Frank enjoys traveling, fitness, and piloting aircraft in his spare time.
Frank Scaglione is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA).

Meteorologist
Shawn Johnson
AMS/NWA Member
An avid and lifelong fan of the weather, Shawn enjoys stormchasing and investigating various weather phenomenons throughout the year. Although Shawn is a "four seasons" kind of guy, his favorite season is none other than severe weather season!
Shawn attended the University of Northern Iowa, majoring in Electrical Engineering, and minoring in Meteorology. He ended up going down to Florida and worked for The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida for three years. He graduated from the University of Central Florida while working for the Disney Company.
Growing up in Iowa, Shawn was used to tornadoes and snow, but really saw the other end of the weather while living in Florida, witnessing various weather events specific to the region, such as tropical storms and hurricanes.
Shawn will have your latest IowaWeatherNow.com forecast primarily on the weekends, and will also fill-in for Chief Meteorologist Frank Scaglione during your work week.
Shawn Johnson is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA).
